Inaugural round table: Anti-Futurismo Cimarrón. Celebrar la re-existencia. With the curanderas and artists.
Dialogue table where the artists and curanderas talk about the exhibition: general conceptualisation and individual pieces, work in progress, lessons learned from the project. Afterwards there will be a space for open conversation with the public.

Drawing with sugar on the floor.
Performance that is part of the video-installation by the artist Johanné Gómez Terrero. The action is performed by DJ Maldita Vaina, who collaborates with the artist's piece to trace with her hands a cosmogram of the spiritual symbolism of voodoo of Haitian-Dominican origin using sugar as a medium: "Sugar is the substratum of Caribbean identity. We ritualise/dance to exorcise".

Distribution of copies of Previsión, a 20-page black and white newspaper printed in 24x33cm (500 copies).
Performance that forms part of the video installation Previsión: Fabulaciones para una sanación decolonial. The action seeks to reveal the participation of the Afro-Cuban people in the processes of decolonisation of the island, helping to restore the silences of official memory. In this case, the artist uses as a resource the newspaper Previsión, which was founded by Evaristo Estenoz, one of the leaders of the Partido de los Independientes de Color, PIC, who, along with other members, was massacred in 1912 on the orders of the second president of the Republic of Cuba, José Miguel Gómez. The performance gestures through scratching a revelation of that which has sought to hide.

A cargo de: Colectivo Ayllu y curanderas, junto a los artistas asistentes a la inauguración.
Las curanderas de la muestra convocan al público interesado a acompañarles en esta jornada de incidencia en el espacio público en donde acompañaremos al Colectivo Ayllu en la distribución y pegado de stickers en la vía pública como parte de su pieza Existió un tiempo antes de que tuviéramos cuerpo. El recorrido parte desde la Rambla a la altura del Santa Mónica, hace una parada en los alrededores del monumento a Colón y sigue el trayecto hacia el mar, donde culmina con el Ritual de sanación para librarnos del mal que nos acecha, co-organizado por los artistas asistentes a la inauguración. Se invitará al público migrante asistente a involucrarse en la actividad.

Intervention in the public space: Flyer, ritual and sticker sticking.
By: Colectivo Ayllu and curanderas, together with the artists attending the opening.
The curanderas of the exhibition invite the interested public to join them on this day of impact in the public space, where we will accompany the Colectivo Ayllu in the distribution and sticking of stickers on the public thoroughfare as part of their piece Existió un tiempo antes de que tuviéramos cuerpo (There was a time before we had a body). The route starts from the Rambla at the Santa Monica, makes a stop around the Columbus monument and continues towards the sea, where it culminates with a healing ritual to free us from the evil that stalks us, co-organised by the artists attending the inauguration. The migrant public will be invited to get involved in the activity.

Verena Melgarejo (Bolivia / Germany) is an artist, curator, educator and researcher who studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and the National University of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires. She works with video and photo-performance and installations, using textiles as an instrument to incorporate manual knowledge into the artistic process. In often ritualistic formats, she uses her body and her (ancestral) history as tools to address colonial and patriarchal structures and to seek forms of individual and collective healing for what she calls "arte-sana". Her works have been exhibited at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Salta (Argentina), at the nGbk in Berlin, (Germany), at the Wiener Festwochen Art Festival (Austria) and at the BIENALSUR in Cúcuta (Colombia).
Yelaine Rodríguez (Dominican Republic / United States). Afro-Dominican artist, educator, curator and cultural organizer from the United States. She received her BA from the New School (2013) and her MA from New York University (2021). Rodriguez conceptualises site-specific wearable and installation art, drawing connections between black cultures in the Caribbean and the United States through fashion, video, performance and photography. Her interfaith and international narratives examine identity and race.
Marcela Huitraiqueo (Wallmapu, Chile) is a visual artist of Mapuche origin. She lives in the Lof Wete Rukan, near Temuco, so her work has been deeply influenced by the stories of her community, and her practice attempts to fix an image, a narrative, that responds to the preservation of these more traditional ancestral memories. He works with large-format, immensely expressive paintings, which he calls "pictorial carvings". The being, the land and the Mapuche people unfold through a powerful and challenging pictorial work, belonging to a new generation of artists who work with fervour vindicating their ancestral culture.
Johanné Gómez Terrero (Dominican Republic). A filmmaker but not only, an artist with a diploma from the International Film and TV School of San Antonio de los Baños (Cuba), as well as from the Film and Audiovisual School of Catalonia. Among her most recent works is the documentary Caribbean Fantasy, winner of several awards, including the Coral at the Havana Festival; La Silla in the Dominican Republic; Cinepoeme at DocsMX; Best Research in Nador (Morocco), and a special mention from the jury at MiradasDoc in Tenerife.
Katia Sepúlveda (Chile / Germany) began attending workshops led by Chilean artists at the age of fifteen. Between 1996 and 2000 she studied photography at the ARCOS Institute of Arts and Communication in Santiago de Chile, followed by a postgraduate course in Film Directing at the University of Chile. In order to further improve his graphic printing techniques, he has taken classes at the "Taller 99". After receiving a DAAD arts scholarship, she moved to Germany in 2004 to study at the Academy of Arts and Media in Cologne, where she attended classes with Valie Export, Jürgen Klauke, Matthias Müller and Julia Scher. The framework of her work deals with critical and decolonial feminisms. In 2006, she began her Master's degree at the Cologne School of Arts and Media with the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung scholarship, where she completed her studies at the beginning of 2009. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Critical Theory at the 17, Instituto de Estudios Críticos, in Mexico City. She has been a selected artist in the 32nd São Paulo Biennial and her work has been exhibited at MASP in São Paulo and other countries around the world. Katia Sepúlveda lives and works in Cologne, Germany.
Colectivo Ayllu (Ecuador, Chile, Argentina, Venezuela, Spain-Madrid). Collaborative group of research and artistic-political action formed by migrant, racialised, sexual and gender dissident agents from ex-colonies. The collective proposes a critique of whiteness as a European colonial heteronormative ideology and the global project of multicultural cities. These function as an ornamental and symbolic strategy that instrumentalises migration and the refugee condition as a smokescreen to hide neoliberal business, NGOs, the human rights industry and the entire racist heteronormative structure of the laws of the Spanish state.
Evel Romain (Haiti). Member of the artist collective known as Atis Rezistans and of a broader movement known as the Sculptors of the Grand Rue, and trained with Jean Hérard Celeur. Much of Evel's work reflects his African heritage with his use of minimal forms and rope details. Evel has been a participant and organiser of the Ghetto Biennale since its inception in 2009.
Ajchowen (Guatemala). Ajchowen ("artist" or "she who makes art" in the Kaqchikel language) is a collective of Mayan women, made up of seven actress-dancers and one Ajq'ij (time-charger). They are from the Maya K'iche', Kaqchickel and Mam linguistic communities, and are accompanied by a mestizo man (Víctor Barillas), a playwright and stage director. To date they have three collective plays and eight individual monologues. Their plays are based on the principles and values of the Mayan cosmovision, and their purpose is to heal consciences, promote culture, the struggle and empowerment of Mayan women, as well as to denounce social problems in their context. They have presented their works in national and international theatre festivals, as well as in various organisations and communities.
Imayna Caceres (Peru). Imayna Caceres' work as an artist and activist grows through collaborative research with non-human entities and local ecosystems and in response to spiritual and ecopolitical concerns; it includes drawing, painting, encounters and rituals, projects in public space, as well as digital drawing and video. She is interested in practices of the communal and engages with forms of knowledge different from hegemonic ones. She lives and works near the banks of the river Donau, and is part of the collectives Trenza and Antikoloniale Interventionen in Vienna, which organise around ecofeminist issues. She holds a Master's degree in Fine Arts and Cultural Studies, a degree in Sociology and Communication Sciences and is currently studying for a PhD in Philosophy at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.
Yoel Díaz Vasquez (1973, Havana) is an artist of Cuban origin whose work has been shown in numerous exhibitions around the world. He has been living and working in Berlin since 2006. He graduated as a sculptor at the Academy of Fine Arts San Alejandro in Havana in 1997 and as a video editor and videographer at the SAE Institute in Berlin in 2014. Díaz Vazquez's practice encompasses a variety of media, including sculpture, drawing, photography, video and installation. His work explores individual and collective responses to the questioning of power, as well as the symbolic imaginary of their respective social and political contexts.
Nitzayra Leonor (Puerto Rico) is a multidisciplinary artist who works with printmaking, photography, the body and ceramics to develop a plastic language based on her experience, memory and identity as black, Afro-descendant, Puerto Rican and Caribbean. She is studying for a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), as well as specialised courses in Sculpture and Printmaking at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas y Diseño de Puerto Rico (School of Fine Arts and Design of Puerto Rico).
Yuderkys Espinosa Miñoso. Afro-Caribbean writer, researcher and teacher. One of the forerunners of decolonial feminism, her contribution aims at a "critique of Eurocentric feminist reason". She is a founding member of the Latin American Group for Feminist Studies, Training and Action (GLEFAS) and of Junta de Prietas. Author of numerous essays and academic texts, as well as editor of several key compilations of decolonial feminism. Her works have been translated into English, French, Italian, German and Portuguese.
