Madrigueras Diskas

Hogar Diska

Obra

15 September 2022 - 08 January 2023

Madrigueras Diskas is a collective filmic piece that weaves the physical and emotional experiences of people who are Diskas, with chronic pain and neuro-disabled, around the concept of home proposed for the exhibition Dozing on the accidental provocation.

It is made up of short videos made individually and put into dialogue, answering the following questions: What is/has been home for me? What makes/has made up my home? What is/has been my home? Who is/has been home? Where is/has been home? How is/has been home? How is/has it created/ destroyed? Homes?

It was born with the intention of taking up space, making our community visible and showing how we relate to the narratives about the welfares/discomforts that pass through us, through an incarnated and auto-ethnographic reflection, traversed by capacitative consciousness and the spaces we can and cannot inhabit.

"With the title Madrigueras Diskas, given at the end of the editing process, we wanted to refer to the importance that non-human animals have in our daily lives, since, without speaking about it beforehand, they are present in all our videos".

Authors: Hogar Diska, site-specific creation collective for Dozing on the accidental provocation. The following artists participated in the conception of this work: Consol Llupià García, Tatiana Antoni Conesa, Silvia M. Limiñana, Eva Iovine and Usu. Two guests will also participate: Carolina Guerra and Micaela Mahi Cuyami.

HOGAR DISKA was formed through a call to a telegram support group of queer people with chronic pain (50 participants). That call was made by Consol Llupià García and answered by: Tatiana Antoni Conesa, Silvia M. Limiñana, Eva Iovine and Usu. We generated a group of five people that has taken this form: a core group of two, Tatiana and Consol, and three itinerant branches with more occasional participation: Silvia, Eva and Usu. Contributing in different ways, following and creating the process and the proposals, reading, etc.

“The collectivisation through the call has made our participation possible, hacking the capacitative times of production (also artistic) that are so accelerated and excluding. Creating connections that have broken the atomisation of our society and have made it possible for a group of suffering discas to accompany each other and create together”.

Consol Llupià García (Barcelona, 1983). “I come from a hodgepodge of ancestors: healers and scientists. My artistic practice is nourished by taking the question of contextual permeability to the extreme, bringing my artistic practice into a porous dialogue with the experiences that happen to me in my daily life, my direct networks of relationships: friends, family, non-human animals, my altered and chronically suffering body, the space I inhabit and connections with the strange. My latest works: 15% Barcelona Crea (2022), La Balena del Prat a El Prat/ Vibraera. La Capella, hangar.org and Unzip Arts Visuals (2018-2020). Private Views. Centro de Arte Contemporáneo Wilfredo Lam La Habana, Institut R. Llul and Sala d'Art jove (2014-17), etc.".

Tatiana Antoni Conesa (Barcelona, 1985). “My artistic practice is fundamentally based on the intervention and creation of images and texts. Seeking to point out systemic violence and claiming one's own point of view as disca, autistic, non-binary and grieving.
“I do individual and group accompaniment with a multidisciplinary perspective that includes the systemic, the body and art. And I participate in various support groups and collective anti-disability care".

Silvia Maestre Limiñana (Agost, 1990). “In my work as an artist I reflect on the ways in which society continues to impose its binaristic, allosexual and ableist vision. My work is born as a response to my experience as a nobinary autistic person with an invisible illness in a society that constantly reinforces gender binarism, neurotypicality and ableism. My latest works have been: participation with the video Baños públicos, cotidianidad y género, in the exhibition "Pluridentitats. II Convocatòria Biennal d'Arts Visuals", at the MUA (Museu de la Universitat d'Alacant), 2021; exhibition of the fanzine Ser Enferma in the exhibition "Emergències 3", organised by Fem Art Mostra, Ca la dona, Barcelona, 2021; participation in the "Nit de l'ART" with the video ¿Quién Seguirá Aquí?, Altea, 2022".

Carolina Guerra (Montevideo, Uruguay, 1982).

Micaela Mahi Cuyami (Barcelona, 1980). "Artist, radio broadcaster and writer, I seek a critical position on inequality, racism and feminism.
"I am vice-president of the community project Radio Nikosia, participating in talks, debates, radio programmes and activities related to mental health and social precariousness. Collaborations with radio CCCB in the exhibition Tosquelles (2022) thinking together about vulnerability, and with Gentrifi-qué (2022) by Contraimaginarios Postpandémicos (Jesus Arpal, Antoine Silvestre and Nancy Garin) at the Santa Monica.
