‘Sksu means ‘well rounded’ in ⵜⴰⵎⴰⵣⵉⵖⵜ (tamazight), the language of my ancestors.
‘My great-grandmother knew how to round well.
‘After different colonisations, this name was adapted to the North African North African Arabic كووسكوس) kūskūs), which later derived into the French word couscous.
‘They were Amazigh.
‘Amazigh means generous, noble or dignified.
‘At home it has always been said to mean ‘free people’.
‘They used the same word to designate their language,
‘their territory and themselves, as you die. It may be because the
‘transmission of knowledge, identity and wisdom was through them.
‘This piece aims to investigate whether they are still us’.
