A machine that affirms chance
Activity open to all and free of charge
A machine that affirms chance is an experiment in the construction of improvised pieces based on the repetition of sounds and literary collage. This machine combines literature, sounds, mechanical-visual work with pedals from the visual arts and experimental music. Simultaneously textual inputs and images are used as a score for a soundscape and a performance-recital appears that uses chance as a medium and a destination.
Episode by the Communication Guild
With the participation of Laura Paz Muñoz
A machine that affirms chance is a performance by Laura Paz and Laura Martínez, who have already collaborated in projects such as El club del fracaso, Eres basura and the Seismes Festival. A machine that affirms chance has had its journey as a performance: it was born as part of the Seismes programme (the festival of the residents of the Fabra i Coats Creation Factory) and has been shown at Feedback (also at Fabra i Coats). On this occasion they propose a piece with the complicity of Irena Visa, as part of the Communication guild. In addition to this performance-recital, they have also collaborated with the project El club del fracaso (City of Barcelona 2020 Grant) and Eres Basura, which received the Visual Arts/Unzip grant.
Laura Paz (Valencia, 1988) is a graduate in Arts and Design from the Massana School, as well as a Gestalt therapist and yoga teacher. She is interested in questions related to the body from image, voice and sound, where she focuses her attention lately. She is linked to collective creation and collaboration through projects with the La Massana Student Platform in collaboration with A*Desk, the Performing Curation programme of the Artefacte Festival, the Catenaria Cycle, a collective collaboration with La Capella and the Ullal Festival. Last year she followed the course on articulating agents between art and education at EART. She is currently a member of the LiberArte collective and is resident at Fabra i Coats with the Nabius collective.
