The other side of food: political, spiritual and poetic implications of food
Activity open to everyone and free of charge with limited capacity to 25 people
From the premise of cooking together and the lightness of sharing daily domestic tasks, we will delve into the erotic and evocative power of food. We will reflect between aromas and flavours on the idea of cultural food identity, we will talk about the kitchen as a space of memory and joyful resistance.
Perhaps we will learn how to serve ingredients perceived as diasporic but which, paradoxically, are natural neighbours of those foods that we define as "our own", that is, we will travel to the other side of culinary stories.
Activity promoted by: Gremi de Gastronomia
With the participation of Mango & Okra
Mango & Okra is a Barcelona-based global collective that creates and dreams intersectional installations and participatory immersions that explore themes of food, home, belonging and postcolonial futures. The collective engages in a radical investigation and re-imagining of diasporic journeys through culinary narratives and the documentation of forgotten realities. It is a collaboration between Agnes Essonti Luque, Lizette Nin and Roshni Kavate.
