Les Mòniques in open air

Have you ever wondered what would happen if we visited one museum using someone else's map? And what economic value could data collected from the number of times you use the toilets in an art centre have? If the souvenirs you have of the exhibitions you've visited could be eaten, what would they smell and taste like? Do you think you could take part in a family workshop in a museum with your feline companion? And read aloud in an art centre? Why can't the sounds of the exhibition you're visiting tonight be read and the images be heard? Why do the texts in museums and contemporary art centres use words that we often don't understand? Who are the Mòniques? What's the point of asking all this from an art centre? Is it important and fun to do so?

The Mòniques are the 20 artists resident at the Santa Mònica who, between September and July, work organised into seven groups or guilds, exploring questions about the centre and its contents through art.

During the Night of the Museums they will display and activate for two hours some of their collective work methodologies and prototypes of artistic mediation devices they are developing, which will be located in the foyer and the Mòniques space.
