The Santa Mònica Gastronomy Guild works on research and collective action around food to debate and reflect on some of the cultural, social, political and ecological challenges facing contemporary society today, building an inter-species living community in the context of an art centre.
The travelling kitchen is a mobile cooking device that has so far travelled around some of the spaces of the Santa Mònica, such as the bar room, the terrace or the office, and in this action it wants to move to the cloister in order to inhabit the proposals of the artists participating in the exhibition Sleep in the accident it provokes inside this space.
We imagine an open and participatory cooking session, to get our hands dirty, share and cook an aperitif together. We will investigate the use of food, combining the opportunities offered by the potato skins from the bar next door with everything that happens and doesn't happen when cooking and eating in an art centre. Come and cook and eat potato skins with us!
