Menu of the day: local answers to globalised food

Menu of the day: local answers to globalised food is a collective food meeting that invites us to enjoy a menu created with ingredients whose origin, mode of production and distribution puts on the table some of the social, political and ecological challenges facing our contemporary society. Thus, the menu itself acts as a catalyst for reflections and conversations in which we will be accompanied by: Justicia alimentaria, an association formed by people who believe in the need to change the current agri-food system, which oppresses and expels rural communities and destroys the environment; and Foodcoop, the first Cooperative and Participative Supermarket in Barcelona.

Menu of the Day is a cycle of two meetings that aim to reflect on contemporary food practices and policies by addressing the relational nature of food through the act of sharing a meal together.

Justícia Alimentària is an association formed by people who believe in the need to change the current agri-food system, which oppresses and expels rural communities and destroys the environment. This change requires the achievement of Food Sovereignty.

Food Coop BCN is the first Cooperative and Participatory Supermarket in Barcelona where you can fill your basket with products that have been chosen according to the principles that drive the project, such as sustainability, proximity and fair treatment of producers and workers.

Tortilla del mar is an artistic-gastronomic project. We have a fixed menu of corn and chilli based products, handmade with traditional Mexican and regional recipes from the state of Zacatecas. We have several projects intertwined by the love of traditional Mexican food, magic, politics and economies of encounter around sharing food.
