A space to connect with matter, flesh, breath
General public
Activity open to all audiences, free with limited capacity, with prior registration at: coordinacioasm@magmacultura.net
Living flesh is a space to connect with matter, flesh, breath, the bodies. From, for and with the senses. Not just yoga classes. Not just dance. Not just deep listening sessions. Not just guided meditations. A somatic laboratory. A caretaker of fascia. A decentraliser of "logocentrism".
Living flesh is born as an initiative of the resident artists of the Centre d'Arts Santa Mònica in the field of education and mediation, as part of the actions of a device/space/zone of collective learning to take care of ourselves.
Living flesh - prânâyâma
The body reflects the state of the mind through the breathing rhythm. Breathing is the mainstay of contemplative practices, a portal of introspection that brings us physical and mental well-being. Yoga, through the techniques of prânâyâma (conscious breathing) provides us with tools to know our breath and begin to understand how we breathe and how breathing affects us physically, mentally and emotionally. In this workshop that combines theory and practice we will go through the anatomy of the breath and its relationship with the various systems of the body and we will teach the different pranayamas: Ujjayi, Viloma, Sama vritti, Bhastrika, Sitali, Chandra bhedana, Surya bhedana, Nadi sodhana.
