We invite the participants to inhabit the space between exhibitions at Santa Mónica in a different way. We create a journey full of scenes that will develop in conversation between the 5 performers, musicians and flamenco dancers, a video artist, the public and the daily life of the centre.

Cristina Candela: dancer, audiovisual creator, performer and Mònica. Born in Madrid, she has developed her career as a dancer in Barcelona where she has worked in tablaos such as Tarantos, El Palacio del Flamenco or El Patio Andaluz. In her facet as a video-creator, her works have been selected in festivals such as Miami Screendance Fest, CineDanza Festival in the city of Mòdena or seismes in Barcelona. As a performer she will premiere her piece NANA in November 2021 in Barcelona.
Anna Solanilla: visual artist and stage designer. She has carried out different projects and exhibitions in the field of visual and performing arts. Her current projects are focused on experimentation with digital arts applied to the stage and on installation devices. She teaches at the Escola Superior d'Art Dramàtic (ESAD) about analogue and digital projects and representation systems. She has also been assistant director and head of master's degrees. PhD in the history of scenography from the University of Barcelona. Graduate in Fine Arts and Dramatic Art, specialising in Scenography (Institut del Teatre). Since 2022 she is artist-in-residence at the centre of arts Santa Mònica.
Pedro Bennaton: resident and worker in Barcelona since 2018, born in London, PhD in Theatre, co-founder of ERRO Grupo in 2001, in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil. Bennaton is a director, researcher, playwright and actor, with experience in Arts and Theatre, and a focus on Urban Intervention and Performance, working mainly on the following themes: street theatre, urban space, participation, invasion, observation, invisibility and displacement. Since 2021, Bennaton has been a guest lecturer at the Jornades d'Investigació Artística de la Universitat de Fontys, and since 2022 he has been artist-in-residence at the Centre d'Arts Santa Mònica, Barcelona.
Karen Lugo: mexican dancer and choreographer, knowledgeable and respectful of tradition. Her unique and personal style has led her to collaborate with artists such as Pepe Habichuela, Jorge Pardo, Chano Dominguez, Javier Colina, Richard Bona, Perico Sambeat, Carles Benavent and Clara Peya among many others. Her latest show is entitled ¨Golpe de Tierra". It was nominated for the Premis de la Crítica d'Arts Escéniques in the category of best solo show. She is currently participating as choreographer and performer in the show ¨Caminos ¨ by Juan Gómez Chicuelo and ¨CAYANA’ by Anna Colom. In just a few months she will premiere ‘Tres Piezas’, a show that she co-directs with the dancer Jose Maldonado.
Pere Martinez: trained at the Taller de Músics in Barcelona and graduated in vocal performance in 2018, he is a connoisseur of classical flamenco singing, influenced by artists such as Duquende and trained with figures such as Juan Gómez ‘Chicuelo’. He has been featured in various shows, including performances at the Palau de la Música Catalana and the Festival Ciutat Flamenco. In 2016, he founded the group ‘Los Aurora’, fusing flamenco and jazz, and in 2022 they released their second album, ‘La balsa de la medusa’. That same year, Martínez released his first solo album, ‘Records’, featuring pieces from the traditional Catalan songbook and cançó authors, presented at the Mercat de Música Viva de Vic.
Anna Colom: musician, singer and composer, with a degree in Flamenco Singing from the ESMUC (Escuela Superior de Música de Catalunya) and trained at the Cristina Heeren Foundation of Flamenco Art in Seville, she has a long career working in theatres and tablaos in Barcelona, Madrid and Andalusia. She has toured and performed in more than twenty countries. In recent years she has worked as a backing vocalist on the tour of Rosalia's El Mal Querer and has performed and recorded with artists such as Juan Gómez Chicuelo, La Tana, Sílvia Pérez Cruz, Las Migas, Edmon Colomer, Filarmónica de Oviedo, Natacha Atlas, Rafael Lechowski, Alfonso Villalonga and many more. After years of participating in a wide range of musical projects, she has just released her first album CAYANA, a tribute to the roots music that has influenced flamenco throughout history.
