King-ing the drag- drag-ing the king

For the first time in Barcelona, Bridge Markland, virtuous of role play and transformation and pioneer of drag and gender performance, visits us. Bridge is an artist who crosses boundaries between dance, theatre, drag and gender performance, cabaret and puppet theatre. Since 1985 she has performed on stages around the world, has organised events, tours and festivals since 1994, and founded the legendary GoDrag!. festival.

On 19 April we will have at the Santa Mònica the opportunity to get a closer look at the work of this drag legend with a performative lecture. With King-ing the drag-ing the king, she will take us on a journey through her experimentation with costume and disguise in Berlin and New York in the 1990s, which led to her most famous performance of the genre, The most beautiful woman in the world.

Bridge Markland will perform for the first time in Barcelona on 20 April in the drag king show 'KINGS Hosted by Ken Pollet - International Drag King Revolution' alongside other drag artists from Berlin and Barcelona.
