Don’t hit a la negra

The Don't hit a la negra party is an open invitation to this affective community that focuses on pleasure and the right to all forms of enjoyment. The objective is to design a party as a political space for the enunciation of transmigrant and racialized bodies that have been expelled from the public space of Las Ramblas. The party will be conceptualized in dialogue with the queer archive developed by one of the working teams of Utopia Rambles, drawing from the lived experiences of the artists who compose the party. Don't hit a la negra is an affective community of sexual dissidence and diaspora and migration. This festive space vindicates the existence of transvestite bodies, trans bodies, bodies on the run, celebrating life, migration as a form of resistance. Don't hit a la negra is a device of rupture that with different rhythms, sonorities, performative practices, drag, voguing, activates the persistence of pleasure as a way of living and disputing the future in settler lands. The party will take place in the framework of the Utopia Rambles project.
