Polysemies of silence proposes to critically explore the constructed oblivion and the different ways in which silence operates to legitimise domination, erect colonial history as a unique discourse or privilege some voices over others when narrating migrations.
This collective proposal by Sabers migrants and Jiser Reflexions Mediterrànies includes a creative proposal and a public programme of activities, which is framed within the exhibition The Possibility of Not Having Been. The self-published publication of the same title, which connects counter-histories and memories of resistance to epistemic violence and the devices of colonial power, will also be presented.
This cycle of activities, which began in October, proposes different formats (talks, radio and workshops) in the face of silence. Spaces for listening and dialogue that vindicate the right to construct one's own narrative, connect counter-narratives and weave critical cartographies.
This discussion aims to question the consideration that expert knowledge or modern science is the only valid way to understand, explain and create knowledge about the reality of migration or colonial history. This meeting and dialogue of knowledge proposes not only to recognise epistemic plurality, but also to construct other counter-hegemonic narratives and practices that claim the critical view, the decolonisation of knowledge, the creation of multiple imaginaries that weave spaces of struggle against the devices of power.
With the participation of Maria Paz Aedo Zuñiga; Cheikh Abdoul Khadre and Rocío Echeverría, Colectivo Maresme.

Radio programme in "fake live" from the Bar lounge. We propose a collective and plural dialogue that connects decolonial views and practices that are being woven from academia, activism and art to think about other possible futures. A space open to the reading of poetry, listening to music or sound fragments and debate with the public.
Dialogues created between: Agnes Essonti Luque, Lizette Nin and Roshni Kavate, Mango+Okra and Sara Cuentas.
Radio programme facilitators: Nora Daoud, Paula Durán, Danilo Marinho and Soukaïna Sentissi.
It is a meeting that proposes a day of collective creation that seeks to reflect on the feelings, knowledge and practices that have been colonised by the European project.
We will analyse how we have incorporated colonial practices either subtly or evidently, and how through our knowledge, the knowledge of the body and the awareness of our surroundings, we re-know and link those parts of our existence that resist being colonised. In this encounter, through our personal photographic archive, we will question and evidence how we have been shaped, while strengthening our forms of resistance through collective power in a self-publishing format.
Facilitators: Boris Mercado, Alejandra Rocabado, Guerthy Gutiérrez and Ida Barbati.
