Polisèmies del silenci I

Polysemies of silence proposes to critically explore the constructed oblivion and the different ways in which silence operates to legitimise domination, erect colonial history as a unique discourse or privilege some voices over others when narrating migrations.

This collective proposal by Sabers migrants and Jiser Reflexions Mediterrànies includes a creative proposal and a public programme of activities, which is framed within the exhibition The Possibility of Not Having Been. It is linked to the self-published publication of the same title, which connects counter-stories and memories of resistance.

This cycle of activities, which began in October and continues during the month of November, proposes different formats (talks, radio and workshops) in the face of silence. Spaces for listening and dialogue that vindicate the right to construct one's own narrative, connect counter-narratives and weave critical cartographies.

  • 16.11.23 / 18 h / Ágora (Exhibtions spaces) / Conversatory: Counter-narratives and collective cartographies

A shared dialogue between participants to explore different experiences and creative formats that are constructing alternative narratives to the hegemonic narrative of modernity and weaving collective cartographies of stories with their own voice.

With the participation of Aymara Aerraza and Lorena Bou (author's route); Mafe Moscoso, Diego Salazr and María Ríos (connected).

Moderation: Nora Daoud and Soukaïna Sentissi.

  • 17.11.23 / 18 h / Bar lounge / Kalima.radio 2: The Right to one's own story

Radio programme in "false live" from the Bar lounge. We propose a collective and plural dialogue that interpellates the voices that have the power to narrate. We will address the silences and oblivions produced by modern discursivity. A space that vindicates the right to one's own narrative and recognises the plurality of experiences, histories and knowledge, in the face of the danger of a single history turned into a universal narrative. A space open to the reading of poetry, to listening to music or sound fragments and to debate with the public.

Dialogues created between: Yeison García López and Quinny Martínez.

Radio programme facilitators: Nora Daoud, Paula Durán, Danilo Marinho and Soukaïna Sentissi.

  • 18.11.23 / 17 h / Ágora (Exhibition spaces) / Workshop: Sound Map in Transit

In a context where sounds circulate at great speed and transit through space-time, we propose to transcend the violence of the colonial frontier through the collective creation of a sound map. We propose a workshop that connects sounds, stories and memories to create gaps in the walls that sustain inequalities, racism and discrimination.

Facilitators: Nora Daoud, Danilo Marinho and Soukaïna Sentissi.
