Rita Sala
Obra
Two paintings made with the same technique (mixed) and colour palette but installed in different spaces and conditions in a way that generates communication between them. "I understand these two paintings as an amalgamation of signalling, from the inside out-outside in".
The two pieces show bodies jumping, but they present two types of jumps: on the one hand, the individual jump, with a rather static movement and, on the other, a collective and dynamic jump.
Objeto-saltito, the individual jump, is located on the staircase of the Santa Mònica. Hanging from a motorised support at the height of the first floor, the piece slowly rotates 360° around an imaginary circle that follows the diameter of the inner hole of the stairs. Víctor Vallès and Max Milà designed and produced this support and its lighting (integrated into the support).
Appearance: 14.06.23 / Disappearance: 25.09.23
Saltito, the collective jump, has no movement and is installed in the exhibition space of Holey.

Rita Sala (Barcelona, 1994). Through painting, installation and writing, Sala has been generating images: spaces that delimit and surround; spaces that contain and are contained at the same time. He investigates the movements of the image to the person, and focuses on what is understood by space (exterior/interior) and how we have learned to relate to it. "I believe that the gaze towards that which surrounds us is established under this circulation, in a vertiginous interface that places us in the possibility of being, on the one hand, sustained and, on the other, agitated. I come face to face with the idea that it is from space, from how we place ourselves within it and how we intervene, that we can come to grasp other ways of understanding the world and its narratives".
