With El Conde de Torrefiel
For 3 days architecture students from the UB and El Conde de Torrefiel will design together a large totem with humble materials that they will build live in front of an audience seated on a grandstand, who will observe the construction process accompanied by a projected text whose central theme is a reflection on work in the XXI century, what the time of a life's work means, whether the working class still exists today, and current beliefs. Money and god, work and leisure, fiction and life, art and technology are the questions that this fourth declination of the stage research project "ULTRAFICCIÓN" addresses.
Since 2010 Tanya Beyeler and Pablo Gisbert have been leading the artistic project "El Conde de Torrefiel". Their stage works shape a visual and textual aesthetic resulting from an oscillation between literature, plastic arts and choreographic movement. The project "El Conde de Torrefiel" has consolidated its own scenic language, especially thanks to the support and visibility offered by European festivals and theatres.
Currently, they are immersed in a research process called "ULTRAFICCIÓN" that will culminate in the premiere of a stage piece in May 2022. During 2021 and with a clear experimental will, they have activated a series of public presentations of scenic artefacts, which seek to formally activate the tensions inherent to the conditions of the concept of fiction in the present. The Salmôn 2022 Festival hosts the fourth rehearsal of this project.
With the participation of students of the course Introduction to Scenography of the ETSAB-UPC (Barcelona School of Architecture - Polytechnic University of Catalonia).
