The accordion, poetry of gesture
Activity open to all and free of charge with a limited capacity of 55 people
Olga Morral presents a concert that delves into the depths of the accordion, and emphasises its characteristic organic gestures with the performance of works that penetrate to the origin of the sound, exploring its limits.
With the participation of Olga Morral
The artistic and musical temperament of accordionist Olga Morral is defined by the presence of a strong duality between energy and delicacy that permeates her interpretations. A latent and constant curiosity has led her to explore the sound to the limits of the instrument and, through precise, tenacious and persevering work, she has managed to bring the most unsuspected sounds to a wide audience, often surprised by the versatility of the accordionist and the immensity of her instrument. Praised by the critics for her "elegant and imposing musical personality" (Teresa Albero, El Diario Vasco), we can say that Olga Morral stands out for her great expressive and communicative gifts with the public.
She has given recitals all over Spain, Germany, France, Italy and Colombia. In addition to concerts as a solo accordion player, she has also performed with national and international orchestras and ensembles, including the Frankfurt Opera Orchestra (Germany), the Hesse State Opera (Germany), the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España (JONDE), Morphosis Ensemble (Catalonia), Moble Beats Ensemble (Germany), Ensemble Kuraia (Euskadi), Orfeón Laudate (Catalonia), Fórum Vocal (Catalonia) and Ensemble Proyecto Ocnos.
He has participated in important international music festivals such as the Quincena Musical de San Sebastián, the Festival Internacional de Música y Danza de Granada, the festival Musika - Música de Bilbao, the Off Liceu - Diálogos Musicales de Barcelona, the Mozartfest of Würzburg, the MUSIKAGILEAK Contemporary Music Circuit of Euskadi, the Bernaola Festival of Vitoria-Gasteiz, InterArtes - Gargonza Arts Award, the Musikaste Festival of Rentería, the Hamburg Dialogues festival and the Popayán Book Fair, among others.
As a result of her talent and work, Olga Morral has been awarded in several competitions and grants. Her prizes and awards include first prize in the Concurso Permanente de Jóvenes Intérpretes de Juventudes Musicales de España, and third prize in the Concurso Internacional de Acordeón Arrasate-Hiria. Among the scholarships she has received, the Alexander Von Humboldt Foundation (Wardwell-Stipendium) is worthy of special mention.
Trained at the Centro Superior de Música del País Vasco with Professor Iñaki Alberdi and at the Hochschule für Musik in Würzburg with Professor Stefan Hussong, she has completed her training with internationally renowned accordionists such as Alexey Artemyev, Pascal Contet, Veli Kujala, Cao Xiao Quing, Claudio Jacomucci, Claudia Buder, Janne Rättyä, Aitor Furundarena, Miren Iñarga, Carlos Iturralde and Hugo Noth.
