Dimecres de so i cos

In the same way that cartography is concerned with representing the information that appears on a map, corpography is concerned with representing everything that appears on a body. Writing is from the body, with the body and in the body, where everything intangible is also present. Bodies that are mediums, channels and media crossed by signs, signals, symbols and syndromes, opening up to everything unclassifiable to be choreographed.

The creation of this collective performance arises from the process carried out by the participants of the Laboratory Corpografies inclassificables under the direction of Zoe Balasch.

Creative process accompanied by Zoe Balasch

Zoe Balasch investigates the languages of the body and dance in scenic and collaborative contexts, moving away from labels. Her creations include solo and group performances, working with artists from different disciplines such as visual arts, poetry, film, dance and music with David Ymbernon, Claire Le Clezio, Isabel Andrés Portí, Sara Pons, Jordi Mas, Xavi Lloses, Jordi Pallarès Barberà, Hui Chun Lin, Antoine Berthiaume and Sasha Agranov, among others. He is inclined towards site-specific creations in rural and urban environments, resulting in performance pieces of different formats. For the last fifteen years he has presented his work in national and international festivals, art galleries, creative centres and universities in Catalonia, Spain, Cyprus, Slovakia, Thailand, Denmark, France, Portugal and Germany.

In dance she has trained in independent schools and centres in Europe and Asia, with a clear influence of the Bodyweather Laboratory. She has a degree in Psychology, with studies in dance-therapy. Interested in improvisation and dialogue with sound, the body, space and the unexpected, she promotes trainings and research meetings in informal contexts. She has given workshops at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the ETSAV of the UPC and the University of Fine Arts in Chiang Mai, Thailand. She continues to work with the desire to continue transmitting what she is discovering. She is currently carrying out interdisciplinary research into choreomania, bodies, light, sound and states of transit in the project Epidemia de baile, in residence at CRA'P, Pràctiques de Creació i Recerca Artística.
