Dimecres de so i cos

Elena Carvajal in collaboration with Fran Martínez with the sound space of Laura Llaneli and Maïte Álvarez's external ull and graphic design.

This narrated performance explores the notions of narrative, invisibility, expectation and how we question our own work as part of it. It is a renegotiation of the desire to narrate and to do so through other voices. The narrative is constructed from the rewriting of a dialogue about lived experience after a quasi-theatrical event/performance of a work that exists ephemerally.

The aim is to investigate what remains after having witnessed the first part of "Really not now, not anymore", which happens at another time, in another place. And as we explained, it is this past event that marks the construction of the present.

Far from a mise-en-scène, we witness something that invites us to listen to a sound sequence, a bonfire, fragments of a conversation between M and L.

Elena Carvajal is a dancer and choreographer based in Brussels and Spain.

Her work slips between choreography and visual arts, dedicated to the dialogue between the writing of space and the language of movement. Through the research of new forms of dramaturgy and through a methodology based on experimentation, she develops a particular universe that is cradled between reality and fiction, generating experiences that the spectator is free to create from his or her own relationship with the world.

His current interest lies in the accident as a form of dramaturgy, and in his work he investigates the possibility of coincidence, narration and expectation within performance.

Fran Martínez trained in performance and dance at different schools in Spain, Portugal and Belgium. He received the DanceWeb-ImpulsTanzFestival Vienna2019 grant. He is co-founder of the company Pálido Domingo. He collaborates regularly with Elena Carvajal and Natalia Fernandes. He is currently in the process of creating TRANSFIXIÓN, a project supported by Centro Cultural Conde Duque + Coreógrafos en Comunidad, Centro Danza Canal, Teatro Ensalle and La Caldera.

Laura Llaneli (Granada 1986) lives and works in Barcelona. She studied music and has a degree in Graphic Design. She also has a degree in Fine Arts and a Masters in Sound Art, both from the Universitat de Barcelona. She is a member of Sonidos de Barcelona (UPF) and the feminist collective Nenazas.

Maïte Álvarez is an artist, choreographer and performer based in Brussels. She holds a master's degree in performing and choreographic arts from the ISAC/Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels (2018) and a master's degree in graphic design from the Haute École des Arts du Rhin-École Supérieure des arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg (2012). Her creations explore the porous correspondences between movement, writing, space, body and object in choreography.
