With Joana Moher
Open and free activity with a limited capacity of 55 people
Language: spanish and catalan
Screening of Ter Terra Tera Ter, a digital composition resulting from a sonoplastic research by Joana Moher sediment-feeling, between aqueous memories and human and more-than-human trans-species osmotic alliances of the body of water of the river Ter, collecting field material during a journey from Ripoll to the Mediterranean Sea in l'Estartit.
A monographic study that intertwines audiovisual experimentation with bio-indicators in sound, and with tactility in soil chromatography, microscopy and bio-materialities collected from the river's metabolism.
The live sound material is a poetic composition inoculated by sediments, sayings and regional Catalan songs (1915-1989) related to agriculture, water, soil, food, trades, war and love. A collage-study that fuses low-fi anthropophonic memories and creature textures recorded in field-recordings.
Joana Moher is a visual artist, sociologist and psychopedagogue, originally from São Pedro de Moel, Portugal and resident in Montcada i Reixac. Her work has been seen in Barcelona, at the LEM - Gracia Territori Sonor festival, Festival Ecoss and MACBA, the Bòlit Centre d'Art Contemporani de Girona, the Festival Eufònic, Terras de l'Ebre, at Reunião Apócrifos Foragidos, Portugal and at Witrshaus Secrets, Austria, among others. Ter terra Tera Ter was created in 2024 by the experimental music cycle VI Generador-Ameba Girona and presented at the Auditorium of Banyoles, and at the University of Girona during the Jornades Internacionals d'Hortes sonores 2024.
In this session we will see the projection of the video accompanied by the sound composition that Joana Moher will perform live + a colloquium where the audience is invited to observe from the microscope samples collected from the river Ter.
