"Còrtex” by Ariadna Onofri

Cortex: layer that covers and protects the hemispheres of the human brain. Between insomnia and altered consciousness: photographs, a female voice, a lullaby and surgical instruments.
This unpublished piece by the director Ariadna Onofri works around the different forms of systemic violence against women and female identities and invites us to reflect and ask ourselves questions about our own history.

Ariadna Onofri
Experimental filmmaker, visual artist and cultural programmer. Graduated in Cinematography at ESCAC. Her work has been shown, among others, at Anthology Film Archives in New York, Xcèntric CCCB or Cineteca-MATADERO. She is currently working on a research and artistic creation project, UN VOLCÁN GRITA/UN CUERPO ESTALLA, within the context of paracine with the Girona Crea Grant (2024). In the field of programming, he is a member of the founding team of the Zumzeig Cinema in the cooperative stage. Together with the filmmaker and programmer Yonay Boix, he promotes and directs the film collective Birdie Num Num, dedicated to the dissemination of experimental and avant-garde cinema in analogue format.
