"The human hibernation: other possibilities for understanding and making films
Open and free activity with a limited capacity of 55 people
Based on the experience of filming The Human Hibernation, Anna Cornudella invites us to learn about the creative process, to reflect and discuss other possible ways of making films.
In the words of the filmmaker with us in this Tuesday Video session. "In the film industry, and especially in the industry, very specific timings and formulas are set for how a film is shot and what the appropriate processes are. It is difficult to escape, as the production companies and the subsidies themselves sometimes set these dynamics and often play against the creative processes. Shooting The Human Hibernation we have found a way to build and create with non-regulatory rhythms that have given us the possibility to conduct the film in a different way".

Anna Cornudella is a multidisciplinary artist who works mainly as a director and art director. She graduated in film in 2014 at ESCAC and since then has worked in theatre, film and video art.
Her work moves between film and science, focusing her interest on the human being, the individual and hierarchical structures within society. All her projects revolve around bio-art and multi-species ethnography, looking for alternatives to the way we inhabit and social utopias.
She has directed video clips such as B1, ACAB, AHH! by the music group B1N0 and video art projects such as "Everything had a price", "The Wheel" (in collaboration with the artist Eliza Lu Doyle) or The human hibernation Project, presented at MACBA together with the neuroscientist Matteo Cerri in 2019, a precursor project of his first film, The human hibernation.
Her first fiction feature film premiered at the Berlinale in 2024, and won the FIPRESCI Award (International Critics' Prize) for Best Film in the Forum section.
She combines her video work with painting and other artistic projects.
