Screening of Sé Villana. La Sevilla del Diablo (Be a villain. The Devil's Seville) by María Cañas, accompanied by an intervention by Sole Parody, who will address issues such as Andalusian identity, the ways in which it is represented and self-represented, migrations and the political imaginaries of the territory.

Sé Villana. La Sevilla del Diablo is a showcase-rebellion on the fanaticism industry and a tribute to the most aperreá humanity. To popular creation, to the strength of the weak, green dogs, poets, exiles, madmen, prostitutes... To the people not only as a quarry of folkloric material but as the true protagonists of life who have the power to stop the train of history. María Cañas, an audiovisual iconoclast, media savage, practices in this piece the videoguerrilla, introducing herself into clichés and genres to dynamite them from remix codes that resemble well-recognisable cultural products such as the Catalan television programme APM?.

The screening of Sé villana. La Sevilla del Diablo will be accompanied by the presence of Sole Parody, who will use the video to address issues such as what some sectors of the left understand as a current period of crisis/renaissance of Andalusian identity, whether there is such a thing as one identity or several or what, the ways in which it is represented and self-represented, or what some are thinking and writing about a generation of artists who, especially through music, are reconstructing imaginaries of emancipation and possibility that have long since been lost in institutional politics.

Sole Parody is an Andalusian artist who develops her activity in the field of music and poetry. In 2011 she unveiled her musical project Le Parody: bits of folklore, echoes of electronics, voice and words used as an instrument within collage-songs. An experiment within the limits of pop of copying, recycling, exploration. Music as a tool to build live performances with bridges between dancing and listening. Magic that cannot be defined, that is unclassifiable, that reminds of many things but sounds like nothing known, it has been said. Labels for the world of words, let everyone choose the ones they need, music for the sense, let everyone listen to it as it best suits them.
