Dimarts de vídeo

Screening of CuPorn and PetroPorn, two pieces produced by CENEx, with commentary by Lucía Egaña and Ánxela Louzao.

The Centro de Estudios de la Naturaleza Extractiva (CENEx) is a platform founded by the artists and researchers Isabel Torres, Juana Guerrero and Lucía Egaña. It proposes to address, from an interdisciplinary practice, a series of issues and consequences of "extractivism", understanding this as a constitutive element of certain epistemologies that reproduce and configure the distribution of forms of life and resources across the length and breadth of planet Earth. In this Tuesdays of video we present two of the pieces they have developed in recent years: PetroPorn (Ana Edwards - Lucía Egaña - Isabel Torres 2017) and CuPorn (Lucía Egaña - Juana Guerrero - Isabel Torres 2020). Both work as part of a wild notebook, a series of mixed poetic and heretical notes, of affections found at the crossroads of a territory and its representation. Using intuitive methodologies, they discard official historicity through narratives that emphasise the tireless and insensitive suckings and perforations of the pornographic narrative of neoliberal extraction.

The screening of the videos will be accompanied by the presence of Ánxela Louzao and Lucía Egaña, who will talk about mineral and extractive contexts in dissimilar territories such as Chile and Galicia, emphasising the holistic dimensions of "extractivism", approaching it from a mineral to a sentimental dimension, and also thinking about what ecofeminist thought can contribute to the debate.
