Cycle "Losing time to gain space": on yesterday's drifts
Activity open to all and free of charge
By placing the recording of the podcast in the Mòniques Space and using it as a radio booth and showcase on the Ramblas, the action of a report on the activities of the cycle Perder el temps per ganar espai, a collaboration of the Spaces, Communication and Participation Guilds, located and conducted by Anna Solanilla, Irena Visa, Diana Rngel and Pedro Bennaton, will be activated.
Losing time to gain space, a cycle within the contents of Utopia Ramblas, organised by the Mòniques of the Centre d'Arts Santa Mònica and the OACU, which proposes a relationship with the practical and theoretical work of Francesco Careri.
From sound recordings, depositions and testimonies, with the possibility of involving the passers-by on the Ramblas, we want to make an ethnographic podcast in real time. To make this podcast, microphones will be installed in the Espai Mòniques and loudspeakers on the terrace so that pedestrians can listen to what is being recorded. All the public will be in the street, but you can invite someone to enter the space.
The Spaces, Communication and Participation Guilds have an interest in delicately influencing the formal aspects, the spatial arrangement of the recording of the podcast, of the memory of an experience, or different experiences, of sound recordings, depositions and testimonies. In other words, how to influence the dramaturgy of the podcast from the space and the activities of the cycle Losing time to gain space to share research on strategies to gain, or at least try to gain, urban space.
