An approach to the territory through atmospheric and light pollution
Activity open to all and free of charge with limited capacity and prior registration in this link.
The paralysis of mobility and productivity caused by the quarantine caused by the coronavirus wreaked havoc on the economy, but provided relevant data on how pollution levels in ecosystems, unknown for years, were decreasing, thus confirming the urgency of taking measures in the face of the global ecological crisis.
The workshop proposes an approach to the environment through atmospheric and light pollution in the city of Barcelona and how these directly affect people's health.
We will explore the city through satellite images and open data applications, which are providing substantial keys to understanding and explaining our relationship with ecosystems and how we alter their health.
There will be dynamics to approach these places from different perspectives, with the participation of physicist Jordi Corberá and artist Daniel Berdala, allowing us to collectively build other stories about the territory, creating links between collective artistic practice and environmental issues that cross these places.
We will learn how to use open data applications to provide relevant information on both climate impacts and the monitoring of actions, and use them to activate a series of observation records in the form of a logbook: drawings, texts, images, etc.
