Carn Viva – Massatge i Moviment

Carne viva is a space to connect with matter, flesh, breath, bodies. From, for and with the senses. Not just yoga classes. Not just dance. Not just deep listening sessions. Not just guided meditations. A somatic laboratory. A caretaker of fascia. A decentraliser of logocentrism.

Carne viva was born as an initiative of the education and mediation guild of the Centre d'Arts Santa Mònica, as part of the actions of a device/space/zone of collective learning to take care of ourselves.

Living flesh - Massages and movement

Touch and movement are two innate qualities in us.

In this workshop we will sensorially perceive each other's bodies through our hands. Specifically we will focus on how to touch the muscle tissue, the flesh, with theoretical and practical information on how to do it.

We will receive a massage from a partner, through which we will feel our own body to let go of tensions and thus gain physical and mental wellbeing.

With this physical sensibility we will move.

We will explore movement through anatomical patterns in relation to the musculature and music. This will lead us to dance, move through space and interact with others.

A sensorial process to go from the inside to the outside.

Facilitating a trusting, safe environment to take care of each other: to enjoy and develop a sensitivity to touch and movement.
