entreExpo ("I got a studio")

entreExpo (I got a studio) is an interactive performance that shows the creative process of the artist Noor Issa, who will use the exhibition space as an artistic studio and will make the public collaborate in the creation process. The artist will work in real time during the exhibition, framing, painting and embroidering the canvas.

By Noor Issa.

Noor Issa (Damascus, 1994)
A visual artist and performer, she aims to address and express her personal experiences growing up in a conservative family and society.
Becoming independent at a young age, having to flee Syria because of the war first to Turkey and later to the Netherlands, Noor soon realised that the countries that ‘welcomed’ her limited her freedom based on labels of citizen, guest, migrant, refugee and tourist. Therefore, travelling and interacting with different places and cultures has become her main inspiration.
Noor uses various media such as painting, performance, installation, writing, photography and video to find universal visual forms to share her personal experiences. His work explores themes such as borders, boundaries, identities and outer space, blending reality and fiction. Noor's abstract paintings feature various colours, dots, circles and patterns, while her performances use her body alongside other objects. Her writings reflect her experiences as storytelling and a way of ‘painting’ by embroidering on canvas and folding it, questioning the limits of a painting.
