An inter-guild team (resident artists in Communication, Publishing, Spaces and Participation), with an interest in the door and the entrance hall of the centre, as part of the mediation branch of the Santa Mònica, proposes an activation in front of the centre to facilitate access to the institution for the potential public that circulates around the building. The theme of the door has been approached from different guilds in other years (such as the recent and continuing research EntreActes: estudis sobre una porta, by the Gremio de Espacios), and this process is understood here as a continuity driven this time by an inter-guild complicity. On the basis of informal talks, research, the experiences of each one, before and during the residency, in being in contact with the building, beyond and from the Mòniques Space, various interrelated factors are identified that make entry and orientation difficult, and in which it is proposed to intervene from the Door Project: identification of the door, incorporating a large, clear sign marking the place of entry, the use of catenaries to frame the entry path, signage for interior orientation, proof of a welcome space in the lobby and identification of the Santa Mònica as a public art centre with free entry.
Activity in the framework of EntreActes#2, the programme of proposals, prototypes and processes that emerge during the period between exhibitions, promoted by the Spaces Guild of Santa Mònica.
By the Communication, Publishing, Spaces and Participation Guilds 23/24.
