Communication Guild

The Santa Mònica Communication Guild researches experimental forms of communication, from contents and forms to modes of audience creation, participation and technical, legal and institutional infrastructures. 

The lines of research and experimentation are diverse, and emphasise the question of technologies and free and open software, participatory forms and the generation of recursive audiences in the narration and communication of contemporary art in relation to processes of value creation and memory.  

Based on these interests, digital and analogue communication projects have been developed, with an open source philosophy, creating bots, websites and interactive analogue devices; questions have also been raised about the use of digital folklore in institutional communication, and the forms and places from which the works of an arts centre are narrated have been problematised; obsolete technologies have been reactivated and elements of merchandising have been played with.
