Obra
Bodies move, meet, intertwine. Unstable, affected, agitated. Codes of conduct are broken. The movements become more intricate. One body then looks for ways to counter the danger of the situation, to avert the potential threat. It increases its volume, swells its membranes, fills with air. The other bodies above it trip, tumble and, perhaps, play.
On the other side, joy.
This work presents an inflatable surface as a playful space for interaction. Connecting through their movement and weight, the movements of bodies on the inflatable affect the shape of the membrane and create the perception that the architecture has been distorted, altering pre-established codes of communication through play.
Anna Irina Russell (Arenys de Mar, 1993). Her artistic practice is based on the playful fact as a tool for research into the structures of communication and interaction through sculpture and installation. She is one of the artists in residence at La Escocesa, and previously at the research and production centre Hangar.
