The exhibition The other side featured four traveling performances by Glòria Ros, Iver Zapata, Lara Brown and Mauricio Sierra, with the collaboration of La Caldera. 

One of the fundamental questions on which The other side is built is the possibility of rethinking the way in which we place the body in a contemporary art exhibition. Through these performative practices, the four performers present in the exhibition have accompanied the public to delve deeper into this issue with actions inside and outside the exhibition space, generating eventful, strange or retroactive encounters. The practices cover diverse actions such as dance, stillness, silence, observation, waiting, touch or invasion of space with materials and presences.

“Perhaps, during your visit to the The other side exhibition, you have come across someone doing something that, you could say, is out of place. And maybe the question of - is this person like this or does he work here? - has been on your mind for a few minutes.

During these months, we, Mauricio, Gloria, Lara and Iver have been, separately, observing, studying and activating the idea of intervening in the space of the exhibition through performances, in this case the one proposed by The other side.  

At the same time, we have shared every day our being in the museum like this in a collective notebook, to accompany us on this journey and to share it later with you.

During this period, different ways of inhabiting this physical and conceptual framework have appeared. From an object that passes through the entire museum, leaving a mark and record of time through an action, to a presence with the intention of emptying itself, a body in silence in the middle of the revelry, a spontaneous present that remains forever sedimented by a writing that it narrates it, an everyday action out of context, a little displaced from its place that only for that reason becomes rarity.

Someone talking a lot, someone singing, someone tying knots, someone dancing, someone counting steps, someone walking backwards, someone reading anywhere in the Museum, at any time.“
