Imagine that we take the characters from a Shakespearean political drama and transform them into game pieces on a board. Now imagine that we form four teams and sit them around the board. Since we obviously no longer live in Shakespeare's time, each team represents a current political party. And what is at stake is power. A power that has to be conquered, exercised and preserved, by any means possible.
In The candidate, we invite the audience to become players and take control of the political game board: a board game that reflects on the mechanisms of power. During the course of a game of debate, doubt, listening and uncompromising murder, sound, light and video react to the moves and shape the atmosphere of an uncompromising struggle for power.
