This video has been edited especially for this exhibition, based on a series of audiovisual documents recorded by the author between 2001 and 2023 in Rome, Belgium, France, Portugal, Madrid and Barcelona. The theme is migration and human movement, migrants and travellers, and freedoms in a Europe that finds it hard to include. Everything has been filmed mostly with domestic hand-held cameras, while the filmmaker and migrant (with papers) moves from one place to another, from one city to another, dragging a Ulysses syndrome and with moments of extreme loneliness and social defencelessness, shared with many other people. The prevailing neoliberal political system makes this collage of images disturbing, dense and with a permanent sensation of NO future. Without freedom of movement there is no real or imaginary freedom possible.
