Guided session by Idoia Zabaleta
Free activity with prior registration (santamonica@gencat.cat) and capacity limited to 20 people
You ask for an appointment, you arrive at the centre, you are greeted by a person who invites you to lie down on a stretcher next to a table with small objects and some pills. If it's hot, if it's warm, if it's a blanket, he asks you to drop your eyes, to abandon them at the back of your skull and to offer him your eyelids. Of course, it is an act of generosity and willingness to adventure. From there, the lights go out and a singular massage begins, reminding you that in your dreams you continue to see. The massage will last an hour, the theatre will last an hour, the dream, however, will be shorter. By then we will have reached port.
Idoia Zabaleta is an outstanding creator of the current contemporary scene. As a performer, she has collaborated in several productions by the company Mal Pelo. She has a degree in biology, and her specialisation in ecosystems and population dynamics can be seen in the ideas that run through her works: tensions and interrelationships between performers, creators, with the audience, with the performance space, the limits of the territory, etc. A teacher and manager, in 2008 she created, together with Juan González, the creative space AZALA as a space for research, promotion and dissemination of stage creation.
