Sharpened is a project by Eli Gras that recovers and illustrates the memory of an ancient trade, the itinerant knife sharpener. The participants are the sharpeners Marina H. Asciutti and Lula Thomas transformed into performers who, using different techniques and materials, explore their working methods through sound expression, directed and sounded live by Eli with multi-camera production by Mar Morey. The sound action is both spontaneous and involves surprise elements, transforming the event into a concert of experimental, ambient and industrial music, almost a live documentary.
