The collective performance Vamos al Chino (Let's go to the Chino) de Cangrejo Pro reflects on the concerns surrounding the security of the Chinese community that runs shops in Madrid and Barcelona, especially bazaars and food shops. A reality of this community that remains silenced in Spanish society. The collective performance aims to convey this message. The intention is that this piece continues to ferment, generating movement and social resonance in order to show this reality and contribute to improving the situation.
Much of the creative and expressive content is based on the artists' own experiences as part of this same Chinese community. The rehearsal process has had proportionate ups and downs, because it involves throwing oneself into the void and constantly exploring one's own limits and boundaries.

Performing Curation
Performing curation, a pioneering experiment in open curation where the public chooses the programming of the main contemporary art centres in Barcelona and Sabadell.
Club9, Centre de les Arts Lliures of the Joan Brossa Foundation, MACBA, centre of arts Santa Mònica and L'Estruch, Fàbrica de Creació de les Arts en Viu, invite you to the PERFORMING CURATION press conference.
PERFORMING CURATION is a pioneering experiment in open and shared curatorship in which the Centre de les Arts Lliures of the Joan Brossa Foundation, MACBA, centre of arts Santa Mònica and L'Estruch, Fàbrica de Creació de les Arts en Viu, have invited the public to choose their programme of artists for the ARTefACTe festival.
ARTefACTe is a contemporary performance art festival on a metropolitan scale that also operates as a laboratory of new cultural institutionality, experimenting in practice with prototypes of emerging and democratic cultural management.
After a process of months of joint work between these institutions to define the assembly mechanism, last March they organised two open assemblies at the centre of arts Santa Mònica and the MACBA, in which some fifty people signed up, who chose a thematic axis and five performance artists in an assembly.
The thematic axis approved in assembly aims to reflect on the idea of an instruction manual towards a change of paradigm to confront the current crisis of civilisation, exploring the margins of possibility for the postulation of models of resistance and survival from performative practices and feminism. With this aim in mind, the fifty or so participants selected the artistic collective Cangrejo Pro and the artists Marla Jacarilla, Paloma Orts and Neus Masdeu.
