Africa Moment presents a musical session in which Ari Tavares will mix beats and sensibilities to generate a collective experience in which the assistants will be guided to find their own voice, their own sound, their own rhythm with their body, experimenting and creating a digital opera at the control of their loop station.

Born in Portugal, Ari Tavares began his musical journey as a child in Cape Verde, where he is part of a renowned family of musicians. Specialised in beatboxing and percussion, Ari is interested in samples and frequencies. Through the computer, he discovered how to produce all kinds of sounds, from Afro-jazz to funky sounds, from lo-fi to future rap. He is a member of the musical group Tristany, which focuses on urban and electronic music. Ari Tavares investigates sonorities in a constant back and forth journey between Cape Verde and Portugal, collaborating in numerous creative projects in the world of the performing arts and film, presented in spaces such as Mercat de les Flors and the Naves del Español in Matadero, among others. With Africa Moment, Ari also develops various community mediation projects with social groups, institutions and educational centres.
