Ocells al Cap will explore the possibilities of extrasensory communication. In short improvisations the group will enter into dialogue with previously unseen historical works of art created by women.

The preparation

Each artist will choose an image of a historical work of art created by a woman that moves her (painting, sculpture, performance, poetry, photography, etc.). To accompany the image, she will write a short text about what is relevant to the work in these times. Put the image and the text in an envelope and keep it secret.

Each artist makes an object to be used in the final performance. On the day of the performances all participating artists will be present at the same time in the space. Small groups of artists (2 or 3) will be selected at random to improvise with the objects they have brought. There will be a scribe who will write down what he/she sees. After each action, one of the envelopes will be selected at random, opened and the contents will be shown and read aloud. The image will be projected. We observe the synchronicities. After the 5 presentations, we will have a discussion with the audience about the synchronicities and the layers of interpretation.

Ocells al Cap is an international group of women performance artists, created in 2014. They develop intuitive and telepathic forms of communication in collective works. They meet to develop methodologies and exercises in order to observe and test their abilities to experience these connections. Over the years they have established a series of exercises and techniques that are based on transformative body-mind-spirit practices such as Tai Chi and meditation. The group continues to work in residencies, workshops and public performances.
