FKBASS Body SOLO
Activity open to all and free of charge with a limited capacity of 55 people
Composer and performer Floy Krouchi questions the sound material of her instrument, the fretless bass. Passionate about microtonality, the depth of bass frequencies and the meditative capacity of sound, she draws inspiration from indian music and the Rudra Veena (traditional Hindustani instrument) to probe the potential of the fkbass, the hybrid bass augmented by the electronics she designed, and the new gestures and body performance it implies. Exploring the bare bones of low frequencies, in the torpor of oscillations, a relationship to silence unfolds and takes the audience to the very edge of sound, inside time, into the swirls of an “electronic raga”.
