Noela Covelo

"My artistic practice is linked to the voice, working mostly through sound installation and performance. The voice not only as a medium but as a material in itself. I am interested in singing, stage practice and pedagogy within the artistic field. I am interested in the implication of presence and the potentiality of shared space.

Graduated in design (2016), in parallel I have studied vocal technique, from various methodologies such as Estill Voice Craft. I am currently participating in the second postgraduate course in sound design within the Master in Art Sonor of the Universitat de Barcelona. During 2021 I have been able to develop the vocal experimentation space MODSYSVS. I have worked as a performer for Arrela't nena arrela't, Claudia Pagès Rabal, at HAU2, Berlin (2019) and at MACBA (2019) and with Julia Rubies for Projecte Cascades, at Mercat de les Flors (2021). I have participated as a vocalist in collaboration with Pau Magrané in CIEGOFEST '18 at Sant Andreu Contemporani (2018) and in collaboration with Joana Capella Buendia in Sala d'art Jove (2020). I have exhibited at La biennale du réel, Data Rhei, Paris (2017), the Museum of Pontevedra (2019), at Angels Barcelona for Loop City Festival with Clàudia Del (2020) and at Dilalica for Art Nou Primera Visiò (2021)".
