Eduard Escoffet
Barcelona, 1979. Poet and cultural agitator. He has practised various aspects of poetry (visual poetry, written poetry, installation, oral poetry, poetic action), although his work focuses on sound poetry and live recital. In addition to his activity in the Barcelona countercultural scene, he has presented his work at poetry festivals and programmes throughout Europe, in China, the United States and several Latin American countries.
He is co-founder of the collective projectes poètics sense títol - propost.org (1996-2016) and directed the festival of current poetic practices PROPOSTA at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (2000-2004). He was director, with Martí Sales, of Barcelona Poesia (Barcelona International Poetry Festival) between 2010 and 2012 and has collaborated in the programming of other festivals such as the Festival Yuxtaposiciones in Madrid and the ReVox cycle (Barcelona and Madrid). He has also been in charge of the poetry section of the literature programme Nostromo (La 2 de TVE). In parallel, he has also worked as a cultural policy advisor. He was also curator, with Eugeni Bonet, of the film cycle Pròximament en aquesta pantalla on lyricist cinema at MACBA (2005). He currently directs the Poesia i + festival in Caldes d'Estrac and other municipalities in the Maresme area.
He is co-author of the plays Wamba va! (with Gerard Altaió, Josep Pedrals and Martí Sales, 2005), Puaj./Ecs. (with #G. Altaió and J. Pedrals, 2005) and La Belbel Underground (with Carles Hac Mor and G. Altaió, 2006). He has published the poetry books Gaire (Pagès, 2012) and El terra i el cel (LaBreu, 2013) and Menys i tot (LaBreu, 2017), as well as the artist's book Estramps amb Evru (2012). Between 2009 and 2016 he collaborated with the electronic band Bradien, with whom he released the albums Pols (spa.RK, 2012) and Escala (spa.RK, 2015). Later, with the group Barba Corsini, he released the album Un nou incendi (Bankrobber, 2021).
