El taxista ful (2005) is a film about the character Jose R., someone who goes about his routine as a taxi driver on the streets of Barcelona. His life would be the same as that of any 52-year-old taxi driver, were it not for the fact that the taxis he drives are stolen. How can such an absurd situation arise? Is he a madman or an unemployed worker who has been hopelessly thrown into such a paradox by the logic of the system?

Hamaca closes 2024 by programming a session centred on this film by Jo Sol where loneliness, militant networks, miseries, hopes, contradictions and the search for hope become entangled, exposing the thorniest questions of a past political moment that, during the last decades, has become even more complicated.

Jo Sol is a screenwriter, film director and visual artist. He is the author of a heterodox filmography, known for titles such as El taxista ful, Vivir y otras ficciones, Fake Orgasm, Noes queda la noche and Armugan, handmade feature films produced autonomously in collaboration with militant collectives. Their productions have had a considerable international impact, being screened and awarded prizes at some of the main film festivals. The continuous revival of these titles, both in political activist circles and in film libraries and academic circles, places his work as a reference in the genre that he himself defines as "urgent cinema".
