Las reglas del juego: a talk between María Ruido and Brigitte Vasallo
Open and free activity with a limited capacity of 55 people
Las reglas del juego (The rules of the game) is a talk-perfomance commissioned by Es Baluard (Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Palma). It is a sequence piece between writer and activist Brigitte Vasallo and artist, filmmaker and researcher María Ruido on the loss of social class, institutional violence and class performativity.
The piece delves into the difficulties, conflicts and contradictions of class and gender that occur in the world of work in the artistic and cultural sphere and how, from a personal and intimate perspective, an attempt is made to respond to them. This talk is based on the idea that declassification is, furthermore, to assume a certain normativity that amputates the possibility of internal movement, that blinds and cancels something that belongs to you.
The screening will be accompanied by a discussion between the audience and the thinkers Brigitte Vasallo and María Ruido.
