“Funny games” by Noemi Sjöberg
Open and free activity with a limited capacity of 55 people
Funny games is a series of four videos in which the director Noemi Sjöberg reflects on the invisible violence that takes place in areas such as politics, tourism and leisure, and which is reflected in public spaces such as bullrings and shopping centres. The title is the homonym of the film by Michael Haneke in which a cruel, perversely amusing game is played by two characters who, in reality, are committing a sustained and abominable crime against others. The show proposes a reflection on the society of the spectacle from an experimental audiovisual perspective.
The screening of Funny games will be attended by Noemi Sjöberg, who will reflect on the urgency of rethinking our models of life: to opt for ecology, changing our consumption patterns, continuing to support the struggle of feminism, stopping the rise of the extreme right, raising awareness, supporting the new generations. Four works raise awareness of issues by opening a debate on three questions that have always preoccupied philosophers and scientists, with some change: where do we come from, where have we got to and, above all, where could we go?
