FLUX SUMMA: TRES
General public
Activity open to everyone and free of charge with a limited capacity of 55 people
With Gat and Antonio Puertas.
This session of Flux Summa is dedicated to the multidisciplinary artist, sound researcher and musician Tres (1956-2016), whose musical facet we will focus on with a selection of fragments of concerts recorded between 1991 and 2012.
Tres's theoretical and aesthetic enquiry is determined by his interest in generating scenarios for silence; a work of research and experimentation that he has carried out since 1998, when he organised Muted at the CCCB, an installation that became a small festival on silence, of which two editions were held. Since then he has produced numerous silent actions whose aim is to give silence a presence and investigate its possibilities, including Cócteles silenciosos (Silent Cocktails), Conciertos silenciosos (Silent Concerts) and Blackouts, or the gradual switching off of buildings. In 2008, at the Antonio de Barnola gallery in Barcelona, he carried out a new action entitled Maldito silencio (Damn Silence), which represents a change of direction in his work and aims to metaphorically destroy the negative forms of silence. This new phase - No more silence - emerges from the need to consider the many undesirable aspects of silence and to denounce it as one of the main strategies for the domination of power.
Tres, in parallel to his work on silence, which he expressed in many disciplines: painting, sculpture, photography, video, performance, actions and sound art, developed a solo musical work and in collaboration with other musicians and groups such as UMBN Aleatoria, la T, Klamm, Eduardo Polonio, Gat, Zush/Tres or The Fake Druids.
