This session of Flux Summa is dedicated to the musician Joan Saura (1954-2012), whose tenth birthday will be celebrated in October.
Keyboardist, improviser and composer, a key figure in the history of Catalan experimental music. He devoted his talent to experimental music and improvisation. He was a founding member of the groups Koniec, Orquesta del Caos, Rambla, Blay Tritono, Rambliolia and the improvisers' collective IBA.
He was a member of the groups Trío Local, Araki, Las Anciens and Pole Pole. He performed with musicians such as Xavier Maristany, Nuno Rebelo, John Zorn, Agustí Fernández, Peter Kowald, Evan Parker, Lê Cuando Ninh, Wolfgang Reisinger, Butch Morris, Jakob Draminsky Højmark, Hiroshi Kobayashi, cabosanroque, etc.
Joan Saura put his skills at the service of dance. Hence his relationship with dancers and choreographers such as Andrés Corchero, Àngels Margarit, Rosa Muñoz, Pep Ramis, Maria Muñoz, Alexis Eupierre, Olga Mesa, Carme Torrent and Constanza Brncic, among others. He has also produced music for theatre, video, film and television.
A few of these musicians and dancers, friends and family members will be joining us for the session.
