Tomorrow memories...

The cloud is in the atmosphere is an archive of anecdotes made up of audiovisual interviews, a work in progress recorded mainly in the counties of Girona. Mainly in three old people's homes in Arbucies, La Garriga and El Esquirol. Interviews with volunteers, non-experts, from the grassroots. Many of them people from the pagès.

The cloud aims to stage transformations in the management of the real, brought about by new devices, well known to all. Also in the perception of identity, control, the public and the private.

We have lived through a process of technological renewal, accelerated exponentially in the last 20 years, which is not a novelty and forms a structural part of the system like crises. Nor has it come in easily, but with shoehorns, false promises and little by little but without pause. The tremendous speed of what has happened makes any evaluation difficult. Everything is hidden, it is important that nothing has happened. This work is a small collection of testimonies of nameless people who want to record fears, imaginaries, desires, expectations, failures, intuitions, confusions, alterations and "real" transformations in their daily lives.

This anecdote book is also a messy history with a certain structure and from below. Like all stories, it looks back and is told by older people. It can be said that today they are a collective excluded and hidden by a spectacle that shows itself to be always young. The very image of a depressed, doped-up person parked in a nursing home shows the true face of a discourse that one day will also disappear along with all its loudspeakers and records of truth. The hope is that everything mutates, nothing remains.

This work will be presented in the form of two video-realizations, on November 8th and 22th. The first part has the subtitle "Without a doubt it is an unquestionable improvement for all..." and the second "Tomorrow Memories". They are two groups of selected interviews, among the sixty carried out. The assembly has been carried out having as a center the different personal characteristics of the interviewees. A little to make room for his human form but without becoming a portrait. To reflect the idiosyncrasy, the elusive, the genius that may always be behind the interviewee and the opinions -embodied- behind the interview. I have avoided all my interventions, and I have put them in the form of texts (intertitles or subtitles at the foot of the image) so that they interfere as little as possible with the image and the voice of the people speaking.
