Colour music

Videodelightwork one is the first piece in a series of abstract animations by Clemente Calvo in which, using specially composed soundtracks and all kinds of animation techniques, short films are constructed in search of a full harmony of colours, shapes, sound and movement. A cold and disturbing first part is juxtaposed with a warm and relaxing second part, like opposite aspects of the same reality.

The screening of this piece by Clemente Clavo will be followed by a live performance by h wass. Both artists share references around their visual music practices. h wass proposes this dialogue from ambient music and images that he produces from an idea of non-narrative cinema: he uses guitar ambiences, multiple layers of textures and choral harmonies, a lo-fi sound to discover from sensations, intuition and emotions, a contemplative and ethereal music inspired both in nature and in the search for beauty.

H waas (Helga Juárez) is a musical and graphic artist from the Basque Country living in Barcelona. Her music is an exploration through the narration of imagined stories born from the environment in which she grew up. He began studying piano and accordion at the age of six, but soon left the conservatory to experiment with music in a self-taught way, both with cymbals and with drums and synthesizers. After being part of different musical initiatives in the Barcelona underground scene, in 2015 he decided to start his own project, h waas. Parallel to music, Juárez develops graphic and audiovisual projects from a non-narrative, intuitive and abstract aesthetic perspective. He is currently responsible for the music programme El Lago at Dublab Bcn.
