Dimarts de vídeo

A session in which Estela Ortiz puts in dialogue the piece Acciones en casa, by Marc Vives and David Bestué, with materials from the internet

Taking as a starting point Acciones en casa, by David Bestué and Marc Vives, which presents a succession of actions, between playful and poetic, in the framework of a student flat, the session of this #DimartsdeVídeo will try to place the codes of the 2005 piece in dialogue with codes developed outside the framework of contemporary art today, specifically with some of the "memeistic" codes that can be seen in TikTok and which also try to rethink the everyday.

Estela Ortiz is a graduate in Political Science and holds a degree in Art from the Massana School. She is a cultural analyst and communicator, especially in the field of digital culture. She has published an essay on identities on Tinder with Nuria Gómez Gabriel ("Love me, Tinder", 2019 ed. Temas de Hoy). She currently does a daily section in 'Los Expertos' on icat.fm where she talks about feminism, current affairs and culture, and directs 'Sabor a WIFI', a podcast about millennial and Z culture. On her YouTube channel she makes video essays analysing cultural phenomena as diverse as Shrek, Pepe the frog or cryptobros.
